House of Blues

1201 Fannin Street

The only House of Blues to be designed in a vertical format, this massive venue is the anchor for the Houston Pavilions outdoor shopping and entertainment complex. The Bronze Peacock Room pays tribute to Houston's first blues club where Big Momma Thornton and Lightnin' Hopkins played. The giant hand–painted mural in the restaurant portrays these legends, along with hometown heroes Albert Collins Johnny "Guitar" Watson. In keeping with tradition, the House of Blues Houston displays the "Crazy Quilt" and keeps a metal box of mud from the Delta Mississippi underneath its stage. Board the Fannin South Station METRORail at either the Hermann Park/Rice U or the Memorial Hermann/Houston Zoo rail stop; exit at the Main Street Square stop and the Pavilions are located between Walker & Dallas Ave. with the main entrance on Main Street.
